Haftarat Parshat Va'eyra - Yechezkel 28:25-29:21
In this week's Haftara, Yechezkel foresees the forthcoming destruction of Egypt, i.e. its defeat at the hands of Bavel, in punishment for its behavior towards Am Yisrael during the time period of the destruction of the First Bet Ha'Mikdash. We begin with a quick overview of the Sefer to understand the setting of this perek within Sefer Yechezkel; afterward, we will discuss the details of the Haftara itself. Online:

Haftarat Parshat Yitro - Yeshayahu 6:1-13
The opening pasuk of this week's Haftara - "b'shnat mot ha'melech Uziyahu..." - mentions the precise year when Yeshayahu received this nevuah, i.e. the year in which King Uziyahu died. Considering that most of Yeshayahu's prophecies do not begin in this manner, we must assume that a thematic connection exists between that unusually explicit date and the "nevuah" that follows. In the following shiur, we attempt to find that connection by considering the time period of Uziyahu. Online:

Haftarat Parshat Terumah - Melachim I 5:26-6:13
In this week's Parsha shiur, we discuss the difference between the Mikdash, a permanent sanctuary, and the Mishkan, a portable and more temporary structure. This week's Haftara describes the actual construction of the permanent Mikdash, the Temple built by King Solomon. However, this only takes place some 480 years later. What took so long? In Part II we provide both a technical and a thematic explanation for why this week's haftara opens with several details concerning the cooperation between Shlomo Ha'Melech and Chiram, the king of Tyre (Lebanon).

Haftarat Parshat Tezaveh - Yechezkel 43:10-27
The last nine chapters of Sefer Yechezkel (40-48), describing the minute details of the construction of the second Bet HaMikdash, stand in contrast to the opening 24 chapters of the Sefer, which describe the Shchina's leaving Yerushalayim, as well as the reason for the destruction of the first Bet HaMikdash. In this shiur, we try to understand why these details of construction are important, and how they too allude to the reason for the destruction of the Mikdash. Online:

Haftarat Parshat Ki-Tisa - Melachim I 18:1-39
This week's Haftara describes the famous 'showdown' between Eliyahu and the prophets of Ba'al on Har Carmel. This week's shiur discusses both the prophetic and 'political' background of this event. Online:

Haftarat Parshat Pekudei - I Melachim 7:51-8:21
Just as this week's Parsha describes the final stages of the construction of the Mishkan, this week's Haftara describes the final stages of the construction of the First Bet HaMikdash. In both cases, the climax centers on the Sh'china - in the form of the anan - covering the new structure, a sign that indeed His Divine Presence rests within Am Yisrael. Online:
